Obituary


Douglas Lamar Walsh (Doodle) of Concord, Florida, passed from this life on Friday, April 29, 
2022, at 80 years of age.  He is survived by his wife, Lonnie Price Walsh of Concord, his siblings 
Loren (Buddy) Walsh, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada, Laverne (Rudd), Carolyn (Newsome) and 
Marcene (Walsh) of Concord, along with a host of much-loved nieces and nephews.  He is 
predeceased by his parents, Loren and Ruth Gray Walsh and two brothers, Horace and Kenneth 
Walsh.  Douglas was born at home in Concord on April 2, 1942.  One of seven siblings, he lived 
his entire life in Concord surrounded by his family and neighbors.   
 
He attended Havana schools and worked in his early years in the shade tobacco.  He enlisted in 
the U. S. Marine Corps Reserves and served in the Tank Battalion of Tallahassee, Florida.  He 
retired from General Electric Supply Company in Tallahassee, having advanced from the 
warehouse to General Branch Manager.  
 
His true love was Lonnie Price Walsh, his family, his tractors and farming.  Douglas had a great 
passion for local and family history, the earth and his people.  
 
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Concord Cemetery.
